How can I help?

The Oakdale Police Department Division of Animal Services relies on volunteer support from the community to provide additional public service and animal care programs that are vital to a healthy community. We are currently in need of committed volunteers who are able to make a commitment to some of the needs of the shelter.  If you have a love for animals and have a requested minimum of eight hours a month to donate your time, please consider becoming a volunteer.

Please review the links below to see how to :

  • Become a Dog walker/Kitty Care Volunteer

  • Off Site Adoption Event Volunteer

  • Animal Special Needs Volunteer-assist in extra care needed for animals currently residing in the shelter. Ie. give daily medications, wound treatment/care

  • Animal Socialization Volunteer-assist Staff in meeting the needs of socializing scared/nervous/abused animals
